"The lists which make up The Salzburger Expulsion Lists are based upon Picton Press' transcription, translation, correction, and expansion of four basic sources: Stammbuch der Osterpreußischen Salzburger / Hermann Gollub -- Alphabetisches Register der Personennamen in den Salzburger Emigrationslisten / Herbert Nolde -- Detailed reports on the Salzburger emigrants who settled in America.

The Salzburger Emigrants were a group of German-speaking Protestant refugees from the Catholic Archbishopric of Salzburg (now in present-day Austria) that immigrated to the Georgia Colony in to escape religious persecution. This group was expelled from their homeland by Count Leopold Anton von Firmian (–), Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg.

Based mainly on detailed journals and letters written by the Salzburgers' pastor, Johann Martin Boltzius, this work describes the expulsion of the Salzburger emigrants, their journey to Georgia, the hardships they endured, and their eventual success in cattle raising, agriculture, lumbering, and silk culture and also includes details of the Swiss, Palatines, and Württembergers who joined them.
